There has never been a better time for
younger generations to mobilise their power for good.
We're influencing how companies operate by using our consumer power and our talent to command better practices
We're using business as a force for good as young entrepreneurs.
Some research shows that young Australians are the group most likely to give up their time to help others or volunteer in their community.
Here's the problem.
When it comes to influencing change through "formal democratic processes" like voting, meeting with an MP or influencing policy, we are consistently underrepresented (we're not rocking up).
These are critical processes that allow us to influence the conditions for all of the issues we care about.
Despite youth enrolment reaching a historical high at the 2019 election, voter participation was lowest in areas with high youth populations.
This trend gets worse at a state and local government level, where youth voter participation is often at 30% or less.
MEET WITH YOUR MP
We've all heard of this but how many of us have done it (hint: not many, especially not consistently). We have power but we aren't channelling it.
Our faith in democracy is in rapid decline, largely due to feeling like our voices aren't represented but as Alexander Woollcott once said:
"I'm tired of hearing it said that democracy doesn't work. Of course it doesn't work.
We are supposed to work it."
JOIN US TO MOBILISE OUR POWER FOR A STRONGER DEMOCRACY.
We're calling on young Australians to 'Pledge to Vote' so we can harness our power to influence the structures & conditions that affect the issues you care about.
PLEDGE TO VOTE
Make a commitment to help grow our power by committing to vote in federal, state and local government elections.
WHAT ISSUES MATTER MOST TO YOU?
Let us know the top three issues you'd like to see action on locally and we will meet with local decision makers to pass this on.
READY TO SHAPE OUR FUTURE?
PLEDGE TO VOTE
By pledging to vote, you’re making a personal commitment to vote at all levels of government, which has a direct and tangible affect on Australia's future.
